In Camtasia Studio, one feature is present known as System Stamp and Caption Options. System Stamp means it will inserts recording information such as time/date and elapsed time into the recording. Caption means add copyright information, special instructions, and additional information in your video.

You can see on this image both System stamp and Caption. I know you may confuse on particular word and it is caption. It has been two times use to describe two different features in Camtasia Studio. If you will look properly, Camtasia Studio window you can see there written Captions, which I have shown to you on below image.
Same name but diffent feature in Camtasia Studio (Caption)
Don’t be so much confused, its work is different and which caption we are talking it will permanently overlays the caption text onto the recording. [If you do not want to add caption while you are recording but want to use this feature then you should use Callouts, Callouts work same as captions only one difference is you can edit your callouts but you cannot edit your captions]
Add captions on your video:
1.Before recording, select Effects > Options > Annotation tab > Caption group box.

2.Enter the caption text in the Caption field.
3.Enable the Prompt before capture option to show the caption dialog box prior to recording.
4.Click the Caption Options button to customize the font and background for the caption. Click OK.
5.In the Annotation tab, click OK to exit.
6.Turn on the Caption option. Select Effects > Annotation > Caption. A checkmark lets you know the option is enabled.
NOTE: The caption appears in each recording file until the option is turned off.
Add system stamp on your video:
- 1. Before recording, select the system stamp options. Select Effects > Options > Annotation tab > System Stamp group box.
- Click the Time/Date Format button to change the order and layout of the Time/Date stamp. Click OK when finished.
- On the Annotation tab, click OK to exit.
- Turn on the System Stamp option. Select Effects > Annotation > Add System Stamp. A checkmark lets you know the option is turned on.
